Description

Description: The survey data covers a representative random sample of rural beneficiaries of the nationwide electrification project EARP (Electricity Access Rollout Programme, see Lenz et at., 2017). The data was collected before and after the electrification intervention, in the periods April-May 2011 and May-August 2013. The information covers relevant socio-economic aspects of the household including household composition, migration, health, and the financial situation as well as security and gender relevant issues. A particular focus of the general questionnaire is on energy usage, i.e. lighting, radio and cooking. This comprises for example questions on fuel consumption, and on activities after nightfall.
