Description

Description: Since 2012, operators of petrol stations are legally required to report price changes to the Market Transparency Unit for Fuels within 5 minutes of the change taking place. This data is shared with third party providers which make the information publicy available on online comparison platforms. Using a web scraping algorithm price data was extracted from the website clever-tanken.de. The dataset comprises of the daily average prices of diesel and E5 unleaded of all petrol stations in Berlin as well as their geographic coordinations and further station specific characteristcis. In addition the data contain information on the refined petrol at the market of Rotterdam. The daily averages are based on hourly prices obtained at the hour sharp.
